Breast Cancer Awareness

I like to keep things simple. I figure the world is complex enough without me adding to it. The noise can be confusing, drowning out what’s important. Sometimes we need a crisis or a commemoration to remember the basics, bring us back to down to earth.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We all know someone or some family stricken by this terrible disease, so now is a good time to reflect on some basic ideas. Life is good, an unimaginable gift! It’s worth fighting for. The fight against breast cancer is a fight for life. Each of us can play a part… and together we can win. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

God Bless,

Hi. I see the HOPE Breast Cancer angel. Might you be extending the HOPE collection to where you could add something for T1D (Type 1 Diabetes); this is an awful disease that so many children (adults too but mainly children) have. My daughter is 10 years old. She was just diagnosed in March of this year. She and so many others will have to deal with this awful disease the rest of her life. T1D is not like type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is an auto immune disorder where the body attacks itself and the pancreas stops working. It has nothing to do with diet or exercise and no cure. The only treatment is insulin shots, oral medication does not work on type 1. Then of course there is Autism and so many other things you could do with a HOPE line. (Just trying to plant a seed.) My mom has been collecting you for ever… I have a much smaller collection of your cats and angels.
Thank you.
