Jim Shore's 20th anniversary Disney Traditions

Celebrating 20 Years of Disney Magic!

Celebrating 20 Years of Disney Magic!

Hard to believe, but this year marks the 20th anniversary of my Disney Traditions collection. What started as a small project with no long-term plans has truly taken on a life of its own. Over the years, it’s become a labor of love—one that continues to inspire my art and connect me with Disney fans all over the world.

There’s so much to love about Disney—the beautiful animation, the heartwarming messages, the unforgettable stories. But for me, it’s always been about the characters. Everyone has a favorite. As a kid, I loved Dumbo and Jiminy Cricket. Later, Ariel and Belle captured my heart (hard to believe it’s been 35 years since Beauty and the Beast!). Today, I’m a big fan of Mirabel from Encanto, not to mention Anna, Elsa, and of course, Tinker Bell. And that’s not even counting the Fab Five!

When it comes to designing each piece, my first priority is staying true to the character. I want someone to look at it and think, “That’s a beautiful Rapunzel” or “That’s definitely Ursula.” Only after that do I want them to notice my style and design flourishes. It’s always character first—then my contribution.

I think that’s why this collection has resonated with so many people. These characters are common ground, a shared heritage. They remind us of the heroes we admire, the villains we fear, and the friends we cherish.

I’m honored to have spent the past two decades bringing these beloved figures to life through my art—and I look forward to continuing the tradition.

God Bless,
