My Favorite Holiday: July 4th
I’ve done a lot of Christmas art in my time. Over the years I’ve designed over 3,000 different Santas and 1,000 Snowmen (that’s just a rough count of course!). Because of that people think I’m some sort of Christmas nut… waiting all year for that one special day. Don’t get me wrong. I do love Christmas and everything that goes with it. Who doesn’t? But the truth is my favorite holiday is the 4th of July. There’s nothing better than a summer evening with family and friends, some good food and, of course, fireworks. It’s a day of fun and memories I treasure. And call me sentimental, but I get a lump in my throat when we all come together to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and the courage of those who fought for them.
We’re starting preparations now for this year, bringing out the decorations (like these designs of course!) and going shopping for essentials. There’s a trip to the fireworks store happening, it’s a good thing I have a pickup! I confess I’m a huge fireworks fan, I love the sights and sounds… even the smell! We do a big show every year in the back yard out over the lake. If you’re in or around South Carolina over the 4th look up at the sky, you might just see it! That’s one of the great things about fireworks. A big show for you is a big show for everyone around! Happy 4th!
God bless,
