Thanksgiving Pie 2019

Thanksgiving here is always pretty hectic. With 6 kids and 13 grandkids and friends and family we normally have a pretty big crowd. And there just never seems to be enough time to do or make everything we want! I’m not complaining, I love having everyone here! But sometimes I have to cut a corner or two, take a deep breath and make time to appreciate the blessings of the day.

With that in mind here’s a quick but delicious dessert recipe, something anyone can do (my grandkids love to make it), that’s guaranteed to make it looked like you slaved in the kitchen but give you some extra time to enjoy your guests. I got it from someone at one of my signing events years ago in Houston, it’s become sort of a Thanksgiving tradition in our house. Try it and let me know what you think. And by the way, I’ve got events the next two weeks at the Disney World and Disneyland. If you’re your planning to come out and have a recipe you’d like to share I’d love to hear it! I’m always looking for new ideas!

God Bless,
Jim Shore

Wow, that looks tasty! I will definitely try that! Thank you so much for coming down to Walt Disney World! It was so nice to meet you for the very first time and I can’t wait to make this a yearly tradition for me! (Plus keep adding to my gorgeous collection of Disney pieces)

Thank you, Jim! Because of limited strength and mobility, my husband has been my caregiver. This will be fast and easy for him to prepare. We love dessert, but try to not over-indulge. We can share this pie with our neighbor and also make for our Christmas gathering. Our one neighbor already made and gave us a delicious cheesecake for our Thanksgiving meal. Donna Hutsler stated she planned to add pineapple. At Christmas I think we may make two pies — one identical to the ones you made and another with added shaved chocolate and small walnut pieces sprinkled on top of the bananas and/or whipped topping. Wishing you and your family a Thanksgiving blessed by our Heavenly Father through His Son.

It looks delicious and definitely easy as pie 😊 I am going to try and put crushed pineapples (juices drained) on top of the bananas. Add sprinkles on top of the cool whip and it should taste like a banana split
